As I have said in previous post we are installing the pistol for the first time this year. We are a 7th and 8th grade team. Thus far we plan we plan to install these runnning plays: zone read, power, counter, stretch, and jet. Does anyone run any two back lead/iso in the pistol? I'm not a big fan of zone schemes with the Pistol offense. I feel that zone schemes are a benefit only if you have the right personnel to block it. Is there anyone else using a Pistol system, but using an assignment or rule based blocking scheme? Any input would be apprecitated.

I run the POTOMAC variation of the Pistol. It stands for Pistol Option To Optimize Matchups And Coverages.

It is a hybrid of the spread option and spread offense with the pistol set.
